How to Select a Google Ads Agency for an HVAC Company

Comparable proposals use the same account window, qualification rule, economics, and access assumptions. Otherwise a forecast may look stronger simply because it counts unsupported system or distant address as useful demand.

Our bias is clear because we provide this service. Even so, the buyer should retain account custody, source records, and enough detail to challenge every recommendation after the engagement ends.

Keep search intent in the weekly record

Review the queries that produced impressions and clicks, then classify them by service, location, urgency, buyer fit, research intent, jobs, vendors, and exclusions. Google Ads Search campaign documentation explains the relevant Search control; the CRM reveals whether the query produced a lead that the service coordinator classified as serviceable property and relevant system.

Negative keywords need an owner and a reversal path. An overbroad exclusion can remove valid demand, while a loose account can spend on terms that a HVAC company will never serve. Record the query, match relationship, decision, scope, and date for every material exclusion.

For Google Ads agency for HVAC companies, ad and landing-page language should mirror the accepted intent. Split campaigns when services have different margins, capacity, locations, or qualification rules, not to make the account diagram look tidy.

The sales record sets the buying unit

The account should use four explicit stages: repair or installation enquiry, serviceable property and relevant system, booked diagnostic or quoted installation, and completed repair or installation. The distinction between accepted demand and unsupported system or distant address belongs to the service coordinator; the ad platform cannot infer that policy from a form submission.

Google documents Search campaigns around keywords, match types, negative keywords, ads, and campaign goals. See the Google Ads Search campaign documentation. That mechanism becomes commercially useful only after the business supplies its own qualification rule.

Capture who changed each status, when it changed, and why. A durable record prevents acquisition waste from being confused with a sale that was simply lost later.

Ask for outputs that expose weak work

Google call reporting can record call duration, start time, connected status, caller area code, and a configured phone-call conversion. See the Google Ads call reporting documentation. In practice, the scope must explain how the operator inspects that control and what happens after the review. For Local Services Ads, the review covers category and location settings, budget, bid mode, lead disputes where available, review flow, and responsiveness. Every charged lead then needs a match against serviceable property and relevant system and completed repair or installation.

The deliverables should include access, conversion checks, lead-rejection rules, CRM reconciliation, and a dated decision log. Any excluded creative or page work needs an owner and a schedule dependency.

The forecast should use the client's own geography, offer, capacity, close rate, and qualification policy. Platform averages cannot replace those inputs.

Test the forecast against collected revenue

A spending limit can be tested with four declared assumptions. For illustration, use $16,247 in collected first-year revenue per completed repair or installation, 50% gross margin, 20% conversion from serviceable property and relevant system, and a 75% acquisition allowance against expected gross profit.

The result is $1,219 per qualified lead: $16,247 × 50% × 20% × 75%. It is a planning example, not a market benchmark. Actual finance and CRM data should replace all four inputs, with a further allowance for overhead, slow collection, refunds, bad debt, and capacity. Update the limit as those inputs change.

Reconcile the platform with the operating record

The account, analytics property, landing-page history, and CRM export should support the same sequence. When the platform reports a conversion but the service coordinator records unsupported system or distant address, the weekly report needs to show the mismatch and the rule used to resolve it.

Google explains that Local Services Ads can use automated or manual bidding and that responsiveness and reviews can affect lead delivery. See the Google Local Services Ads bidding documentation.

These sources are evidence for the platform setup, not a performance promise. Current account access, sales outcomes, and controlled tests are still required.
